Shelter Overview

A Feline Sanctuary
At SPEAK, Incorporated, we strive to provide sanctuary to a feline population that consists of stray/abused/abandoned and injured felines in a cageless and natural setting. Prior to their approved adoption, our cats are evaluated upon intake and provided with immediate medical care (including radiographs and ultrasounds), surgery if needed (such as amputations, urinary blockages, etc.), blood tested for diseases, vaccinated, treated with flea control, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered. Our dedicated sanctuary staff focuses on providing shelter, love and proper medical care while our cats patiently wait for their forever homes.
Our non-profit cat sanctuary is unique in that we can take in more seriously injured or ill cats due to our location within an animal hospital. These are cats that would otherwise be put down in another shelter due to the severity of their injuries. We can safely care for up to 50 cats in the shelter at any given time, and they range from bottle babies to geriatric cats.
All our work and future endeavors in animal welfare are dependent on the generosity of others. Without our members, supporters and contributors, our programs and any future help to these abandoned animals would be in grave jeopardy. It is through the kindness and generosity of people who believe in our commitment to the welfare, health and happiness of animals that we exist today. It is that same generosity that will enable us to continue our work and progress in animal welfare.
